Default Acura TL Engine Cradle (Swap info reference)

The large mount is on the FRONT of the car for reference. I'll try to include measurements later, I couldn't find my tape measure. The cradle itself is aluminum, and as you can see, it wouldn't be all that difficult to relocate mounts with some aluminum welding/hole tapping.

Why am I doing this? I'm gonna need some competition from the G1 group once the turbo is on my 2.7. I'm not sure if I'm gonna tackle this swap myself, but I might a few years down the road. I don't mind helping you guys out, as long as SOMEONE gets serious about a G1 engine swap! As far as the NSX swap goes, I wouldn't attempt it. The 3.5 in the Type-S is rated only 5 HP less than the 3.2 in the NSX, and you don't have to worry about fitting in those HUGE dual-cam heads.

if my turbo project goes well and i get this garage across the alley i've bee eying, i just might give it a go.

my biggest concern would be the suspension, i don't know how it would work out with the legend rear and tl front.

^It's all still the same setup. Whatcha call'em...McPherson struts!

I just noticed the engine mounts being so close to the Legend (G1) mount locations, and the steering rack in the same area.....hell, looks like if the upper ball joints/control arms from the Legend will just fit the top of the TL knuckles, the suspension wouldn't be a problem if the rest of this cradle was bolted on right, and the tops of the struts fit the body. Do-Able. Difficult tho.

P.S. - I'm looking at this closely now that I can't find ROD BEARINGS for a friggin' 2.7 Liter! I may as well as modernize the whole engine compartment.

Well, to go that far, then it's custom made rods and pistons, and may as well stroke the crank. Big money. I'm just ready to boost the shit out of a 2.7 to see what happens, but sitting on a blown motor, and the good motor was getting new rings and bearings, but I'm stuck with aftermarket bearings. I don't trust 'em.

there's a stroke kit that i think Tony found, can't remember the site, but i'm my memory serves me right, it was 1900 and it includes forged crank and pistons, but not rods (witch i thought was strange). the set up is supposed to run the factory rods, witch seems crazy to me.

somebody should offer a rotating assembly...
