Default Break down of my sh!ty week with the Legend

So, as of Friday the Legend is officially dead. It spun a bearing two weeks ago, last weekend I pulled the pan and replaced all the rod bearings. #6 had spun. Drove the car for two days, same bearing spun again.

So Now I've started to move forward with my motor build. I've so far pulled the heads off and have gotten my flanges made for my custom headers and ITB's. Tomorrow after work I'm puling the axles, transmission, shift linkage, and hopefully the block.

A basic break down of how the build is going to be is:

Short Block: H22 Domed Pistons; bored, decked, & refreshed block; custom cylinder sleeve brace; New balanced & knife edged crank shaft; new cryo-treated & shot-peened stock rods; New oil pump; custom baffled oil pan; ARP main & rod bolts.

Heads: Port & polished; over-sized intake and exhaust valves (Have not decided on a size yet); Stiffer Dual valve springs; custom ground cams

It will be running on MS3x and tuned by me on a dyno at my buddies shop. Hopefully it will also be going into a Del Sol but we'll just have to see on that one ;]

I speculate over 250hp since Jago has 210 with just bolt on's and a bump in compression. Figured I'd share what will be going on for the remainder of this year.

Wonder what happened inside the motor that made it spin the new bearing so quickly...something must be screwed up.

What will you have to drive in the mean time?

Good luck with the build and and I'll be watching this one.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't his DD considering it has the interior stripped and no AC etc. Its real hot in Florida to drive around like that.

My guess it the Journal for the Connecting rod became out of round when it spun the last bearing.

Tell me about. I lived in Fla for twenty years and my first 4 or 5 driving years I had a couple old Honda's with no AC. I was like this isn't too bad until I got a car with AC. AC is a must in Fla. I understand why you don't have it in your legend but man that's brutal.

Sucks to hear man. At least you'll be doing a fully rebuilt motor. Gonna still be using the 2.5L or 2.7L?

Are you sure you can do that ? It's +3.0 mm or 118 thousandths. The
max overbore recommended by Honda is 0.5 mm.
