Default Funniest thing you have heard said about a legend....

I thought I would post this thread because im sure you have heard it all. What i mean by this thread is if you have ever had a conversation with someone and they started spittin out garbage because they assume they know anything about the Legend.

ill start:

On two seperate occasions I have talked to 2 other import owners saying "ya i know a guy who has one and is running twin turbos at 20 pounds. Putting down 400 hp." After asking what the guy did to get it to handle that much power "i dont know man, I just know he has it tuned and its fast. " Thats when I said "Tell him there is a guy in town who wants to know more about what he did. Otherwise this guy didnt do it"

Then on another occasion, I was told there was a guy at the (street) "races" with a turbod legend. He was beating everyone and he had swapped a jdm b16 in it. As soon as i heard that, i was instantly curious......"So how many clutches did he go through trying to get that engine to move that boat?" "I dont know man.....he has it done and its quick"

Why does it seem when you know they are sprouting BS they end up resorting to "IDK its quick." What do you think...im FOB?

At some point my bro in law got a mx-8 I think it's called. It had a 6 speed tranny. My Legend was in excellent condition, but he always was trying to get me to admit it was outdated (his car had navi and other amenities).

When I told him the GS comes with a 6 speed and would kill his Mazda, he was like - "That's impossible. They didnt invent 6speeds back then, the mazda is the first." Then he said, "my boy's got a Legend and they dont even make manuals."

I just said "whatever, you dont know anything about cars. I am going to stop talking to you now."

Incidentally, he got rid of it because he was trying to rock that thing in the NY snow, but the RWD wouldnt cooperate. He would slide all over the place.

my alternator died and I had to get the car towed home a while back. Tow truck driver starts to pick up the back end of my car and I ask "uhh, so should I put it in neutral, or what?" Driver says, "oh nah man, it's rear wheel drive. All the new Acuras are rear wheel drive." This was 2 years ago.

I've meet legend owners who post on this board. But lets just say this one owner of a 94 canterbury L or LS sedan. Tried to tell me he swapped in a fully built nsx 3.4(!) liter engine. I was like o0oo let me see and hes like I can't its at home with a BHG...

Later after the guy found me at the drags we lined up and I stomped his ass. To which he said I was running NOS. I was like w/e dude. Then his buddies came up giving me props for beating his ass cause he never shuts up about how fast and nice my legend is.

Supposedly he was planning to race me all along and say he had this that and the other just so he could get a closer look at my car. Weird

hmm nothing funny about the Legend was said, but the convo was sort of funny to me:

My bro and I were looking at ads for cars, don't really recall which ones, but I found a 2004 with about 70k miles and a low teens price, something like that, looked like it was in excellent shape, etc. He looked it over, liked it, and then said something like, "but it has really high miles." I replied, in typical Legend owner fashion, "Nah, man, that's really low! I bet it still smells new inside."

True story:colleague from work gets in the car, on our way to lunch. Looks around, says "nice ride, what year is it?". "1994", I say. She looks around some more (mind you this woman owns a Ford Taurus) and says "Why'd you rice it out with a 6-speed knob in a 5 speed?". I didn't respond. We had about a 4 mile ride on the freeway to get to where the lunch meeting was. 130mph and a healthy serving of sixth gear later she says in quiet voice "Sorry 'bout the rice comment". We laugh about it over beer now.

i was cleaning the leen in the driveway when 2 younger kids came up on bikes, one says
"Your car looks really old."
then the other one goes
"Yeah it looks like someone shot your car"

It made me laugh quite a bit.
