So my legend has a BHG n it has bad lifters. I'm trying to decide if I want to do tha 3.5 swap or part it n jus get an RL. I wanna keep both but dont have tha space. Wat do u guys think? I haven't been on here lately, I recently got in a car accident n been on disability.

Well, RL's can be had for the price of a good swap, at least I have seen a few RL's around in good condition, for under $4000, and my swap so far is running me over $4000 with all the parts, labor etc. so far.. I think if you are strapped on cash, a straight 3.5 may be cheaper than getting an RL, but it really all depends on your budget, what you replace during the swap, and what your preferance is on cars.. The RL is nice, but it's no LEgend
Close though.

The RL is just bland. It's for A-to-B transportation. Fix the Legend.

Yea it's pretty much around tha same price, an RL most likely to be more expensive. I have never driven an RL but my buddy has one maybe I can test drive but I love anything about legends. I jus don't wanna run into problems with tha swap n not have a car to drive. I need to kno more about it. Do u have to get it barred n reffed n contact tha DMV?
I'm in Modesto, California.

I am not sure but I have read a lot about people wanting it to appear stock after the swap for inspections etc, so I don't know what the DMV etc. requires in California after a swap, but should be no issue getting it on the road after a 3.5, I wouldn't think.. And I had the same fears about swapping and running into issues, but I think the forum can clarify any issues you may run into should you decide on the swap.. I like your Ka7 so I'd love to see a healthy new heart beating in it..

It really depends on if you LOVE your Legend. If you just like your Legend then I would say get the RL and try it out. They are (to me) a lot more boring than the Legend... but I'm a coupe guy and have no preference between a Legend Sedan or an RL. (Actually that's wrong, on the sedan side of things I think I like the ride, interior and size of the G1 RL)
If you are worried about the 3.5 swap... a stealth swap only shows a couple very small differences that can be easily disguised. rich

Yea I've known people that have done swaps n they has to go thru tha DMV. The 3.5 looks pretty much tha same, tha only people to notice it would be when it's getting smogged. I jus don't wanna run into any problems cuz it's my DD. I'm sure all tha members kno everything about tha swap. I would also have to find tha motor as well. I planned to jus keep tha motor in my garage n put on tha parts on before paying someone to swap it. I have to see how much tha mechanic would charge. It's a hassle n there's other problems with my car thats y i want tha RL but I'm sure tha swap is worth it in tha end.

I'm in love with my legend. I jus have a lot of problems since I got it. I've always planned to do tha swap jus never thot tha head gasket would blow that fast especially with bad lifters on top of it. I want to get both n slowly swap it but I don't think I can do that. I'm leaning more towards tha swap. I love how tha legends look, it's completely perfect but tha RL is growing on me. I don't think I can ever own another car than a legend/RL.

It's too bad you aren't closer. I have enough stuff to put together a stealth swap for you and could just get your old intake/exhaust parts when you are done.
wonder if a member out there has all the stuff sitting around and would do a loaner setup for you. That way you get the RL engine and prep it completely for install before pulling yours. rich
