Default blower motor bearings serviceable?

I have the whine from my blower motor bearings which is very annoying but not enough to buy a new unit. I was wondering has anyone ever looked at the bearing to see if the noise could be fixed by just adding some lube? I would rather not take it out to find out I just need to replace it. Anyone try to fix this rather then replace it?

I may be mistaken but the bearing is a "dry" bearing. Its not a bearing in the common sense of a bearing, but rather a tightly machined copper alloy sleeve. I bet its not the bearing making noise, but rather the brushes being worn all the way down.

The bearing in my fan blower whined when I got the car. As soon as I cleaned the small piece if plastic out of the fan the whine went away. Self repairing bearings!

So your whine was caused by plastic in the fan? Or just messing with the assembly made it go away, I'm confused.

Default The fan has sealed bearings....

just had mine out to clean the plenum and fan blades. The motors are pretty stout, you probably have some leaves in the fan. This was my problem. The plenum is easy to remove and clean. You have to remove the glove box and glove box frame. Follow the instructions in the service manual.
