key fob replacement?

well after removing my old ignition and replacing it with the one i bought from Ari, i've realized the stock alarm had a loop on it (disabling it) and now its working lol and i wanted to know where can i get a replacement key fob to the stock alarm or if thats even possible.. lemme know thanks


note: i know its possible to program a remote with garage doors lmao

our cars didn't have a built in keyless like newer acura's. if u have a keyless unit, its only good if u have the original remote b/c our remotes aren't programmable and the company who used to make them no longer does.

This is not true. Panasonic is actually the company who makes our keyless entry unit. You can get replacements at the dealership. They should have a form for you to fill out that they send to Panasonic, they basically need your vin number so that they know whether its a 2-door, 4-door, etc. You may have to twist some arms, but it is possible. Costs $80, but comes in a neat little leather pouch.

Well, it was a little while ago that I got mine, so perhaps they've ditched it since. They told me "No." at my dealership at first too. I really had to twist some arms. I forget how I eventually got them to realize they could do it. I'll go over to my dealership sometime soon and see if I can get copies of the form they had me fill out. If I get that and you can go into a dealership with that, there's no way they could tell you no.

I'll try to get all the info. I can from when I got mine. It was less than a year ago, I'm sure. It'd be strange to me if they've stopped since then, but I guess you never know.

BTW, OP: Just because you have an alarm does not mean you have a keyless entry unit, which you definitely can not get from the dealership anymore, so check on that first.

1. So some of the legends did come with keyless entry. Was it only offered on a certain trim level or an option for everyone?

1. Also, Reading your signature (and seeing it a few times elsewhere) is the tilt moon roof a complete after-market moon roof that you have to buy and install or is it just modifying the operation of the OEM moon roof

Q, keyless entry was a dealer installed option on any trim from 91-95. It was only an option, it was never standard. The moon roof tilt is a mod that is a DIY. Do a search for moon roof or sunroof tilt DIY and that should help you.

What do you mean by saying the stock alarm had a "loop on it"?
