FEELER: Anodized .Org Logo Plates

I've been toying around with the idea of machining the .Org logo into aluminum for a while. Some research, some phone calls, and several hours of drawing time and I've produced something that I think other members might be interested in.

Details:

• This will be a limited run of 20, one-off machined pieces
• The logo plates will be made of 1/4-3/8-in. T6061 Aluminum flat stock
• The plates (with logo) can be anodized bare, or anodized with one color (color of your choice, but please stick to basics for the sake of the feeler. I will be able to answer color palette questions in the coming weeks.
• Once anodized, the machining will commence, which will leave a brilliant machined-aluminum surface below the colored surface.
• The plates will be 1-1.25-in. in width, and approximately 12-in long.
• The .Org lettering will be a 45° notch cut into the surface.
• The exterior chamfer (angled bevel) may or may not be part of the final design. The machine shop I'm in discussions with is going to let me know once we've established a 20-buyer interest.
• Any dimension, (length, width, thickness, bevel thickness may change depending on the orientation of the lettering.

IMPORTANT: This GB is a soft feeler, these will not be created in 1, or 2 or 3 weeks, my target completion time is mid-August.

Talking with the machine shop and surface plating companies, I've driven the cost down as far as I can at the moment. The small-batch job is driving up the cost; however, when haven't we had to pay to play in our GBs?! I think the final costs are good considering how the personal projects I've placed through this shop have been near $1,000 when you're paying for their time and the machine time. I'm in the wrong business....

The prices for the two (at least for the moment) choices are as follows:

Anodized, Bare , (With Logo) - $80.00 + $10 Shipping via USPS Priority Mail.
Anodized, Colored, (With Logo) - $100.00 + $10 Shipping via USPS Priority Mail.

Shipping within Continental US ONLY.

I am not available for local pick-up, as my work schedule is bat-s*&t crazy.

And I can only thing of one guy who would want one GREEN....'ahem.....! So that's an option.

Teaser and not an option! This would blow the cost out of the water, and requires a separate plating process. We'll call it a Hybrid. Perhaps I can offer it in the future (the color combinations are endless!)

If theres any way to add the "A", I'd like one of whichever one gets built. My "favorite" would be a copy of the recent GB of the .org stickers. Just a thought.

That is...if I can stir up some more interest. I thought more of .Org would be interested!

Any chance the Acura can be cut out so these can be used on door sills with LED's beneath them?

Edit: or make them JUST say Acura so they're shorter and cut out for LED's
