Haha ya im not worried about passing other than the DRLs, the car is basically a 'new' legend, but I will look around for someone. Is there any legal issues I should be worried about like getting pulled over for no DRLs?

I disagree with this comment...if its against the law, especially a OBVIOUS violation, the cop is going to enforce it...just like if you are doin 40 in a 25, you will get a ticket for speeding if caught...get the DRL fixed, avoid the headache...

A co-worker wants to buy this Sub from me. Is $50.00 a fair price? Sub only, no box, no amp. |

it's not against the law, i was just digging a bit. by law a car manufacturer has to make a car up here with drl, if your car does not have them or is older you dont HAVE to have them, ie retrofitting them to ur car, however if you have a canadian model car and your drl are non functional that would be a fail. you wont get stopped so long as you use your lights properly!

4.02(2) A vehicle on a highway must be equipped with lamps equivalent to those provided by the original manufacturer in accordance with the requirements that applied under the Motor Vehicle Safety Act (Canada), or a predecessor to that Act, at the time of vehicle manufacture. The penalty for failure to comply may involve being issued a violation ticket with a ticketed amount of $109. since its american its fine, doesnt need to be modified edit:this too You are right. Canada's Motor Vehicle Safety Act (MVSA) and its Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (MVSRs) require that all new vehicles sold in (or imported into) Canada and built after December 1, 1989, be fitted with daytime running lights (DRLs) that go on when you start the vehicle. Vehicles built after December 1, 1989, that operate without DRLs are either: United States licensed whose drivers are visiting Canada have a broken or disconnected DRL function; or were imported when they were more than 15 years old, (the federal government does not have jurisdiction over these) Provincial/territorial governments have complete authority over the road system and its use, including the licensing, operation and maintenance of vehicles. With a few exceptions, the Government of Nova Scotia requires the use of DRLs or low-beam headlamps during the daytime hours. This law applies to all road users, including visitors. Nova Scotia is the first Canadian province to pass such a law. Transport Canada is encouraging other provinces to follow Nova Scotia’s example. | |

from the terminology it sounds like if u were a dealer trying to resale an american car it would need to be modded for the sale.....it being a private sale i dont think u need to....it does say varying by province to province, to their ministry's discretion.....but as it states, nova scotia is the only province where it is actually LAW to be using lights during the day.....i'm trying to find that transport canada gov site again.... and as i stated my car for example if my drl werent working i'd have a light on my cluster tripped which is "resaon" enough to fail a safety in some minds....but urs being an american car it is in perfect working order without drl....if u get where im going.... edit: heres the transport canada gov site... http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/roadsafety/roadsafety-1158.htm edit: if you still have any doubts...call them and inquire Last edited by Juicemon; 03-30-2013 at 05:18 PM. |
