good point, ok so i changed the oil , ticking got a lil quieter, but not much.its still loud, but now the oil light flickers ,and i reved it a lil and the oil light went out then it comes back on......im thinking of pouring the 1/2qt. of diesel fuel in the engine , hopeing it will clean out a clogged hole...

I'd try that or drain a quart and replace it with seafoam. Run it for a minute or two let it sit for a day and see if it works the sludge out. Change your oil and filter, fill it up with some cheap 5W-30 run the car and see if it's better. If it is, drive it for a couple hundred miles then put good oil in and change the filter. You might want to weigh the filter in both cases just to see how much crap was in there.

i was going to try sea foam but i think the diesal fuel is more likely to clean it out better.

ok so i poured the deisal fuel in and the sedan is idleing (i put a stick to make it idle that high) at 1100 rpm's as i type .i cant drive it around cause it has no tags ,so i will let it idle like that for a good 45 minutes or so.hope fully it takes the ticking away and the oil light will shut off......if it does not then do i have to take the heads out or just the rocker assembly off?

what oil are you using? Since you have already changed the oil, I would recommend a flush such as amsoil engine flush in addition to running 1 quart of ATF in the crankcase. After running this through your motor, drain and replace with fresh fluids. I've heard that lucas oil stabilizer actually does help because it coats the metal parts that cause the ticking. If it is still ticking after the engine flush, I would try adding a bit of lucas in.

Did your oil light go out? My car ticked pretty well after changing my HG's. It quieted down after a few hundred miles. I think the seals in the tappets swelled up and retained their fluid resistance.

amsoil has a very high breakdown point. Somebody said it was good for 10,000 miles.

You need to clean out your oil orifices and inspect your oil pump. I wouldn't drive it you might spin a bearing
