Cool G1's can be fun too

I got to ride around in austins (tubadude's) g1 sedan. I must say that car was pretty peppy for its age etc. I would DEFINITELY take one as daily driver. I don't know all his mods besides headers/exhaust but from my first experience in one, thats how a G1 should have come from the factory

The g1 reminds me SO much of a civic, not in being cheap but in total amount of fun/drive ability. It even made me want to drive it just because of how it felt from the back seat. So those of you who have a g1 and dislike it do whatever he has done with his and if you still don't like it you have some issues. I'm not a big fan of cars that are as old as me (unless its a classic) but truly it just felt like a civic with more torque or a giant go kart. You guys should roll around proud in your g1's

Wow, Greek starting a thread in the G1 section? Lol I always represent the G1. There are a lot of people that do look down on the G1, but once you get in one and drive it, it's a hole different story. Glad you like the G1 Lou, now are you thinking of buying one? Lol.

Austin's has a bit more going for it because of his mods (including a vacuum advance distributor) but for the most part, even a high mielage, old, tired G1 is going to be peppy in spite of its age

As I mentioned previously, they did come like that from the factory...just a bit quieter than Austins

I know what you meant to say by that...but you couldn't compare it to like an Integra or a 3G Accord at least?????

In the 6+ years I've been here, I think I can count on one hand the number of G1 owners I've met that truly disliked the car.

Thanks for the props though Lou I know it takes a lot for some G2 guys to admit the great engineering and effort that went into the G1

I sold my 88 G1 cpe 5sp to get a 2000 accord cpe. There wasn't a damn thing different on the dashboards. the accord was faster, but I miss my G1.

imo the g1 is a much more fun to drive car than the g2. it's lighter and more tossable. it has a very good ride/handling balance, if it had a little more roll control, it would be perfect.
