Lights stay on while trying to start.
I know it's not dirty terminals. Those are always kept clean. Ill check the grounds. Buy if it were the lights would dim. And starter would at least click or something.
Ill try to remove the Alt. fuse and check for codes when work permits!
I just need to find the time and use my Power Probe to check things out.

It does sound like the ignition switch. Does the car have an aftermarket alarm?

Right now she's back in her safe zone! Back in the driveway and under wraps! Out if site out of mind! Most neighbors don't even know about this car. Those that do ( very old friends )
Think that she belongs in a museum! : )

Is it still a dealer item?! I'd rather stay factory. Don't really care on the cost. But I'll keep the option of aftermarket.

Seems to be discontinued from the dealer. You can try getting it from partstrain.com.

When you are saying ignition switch. You don't mean the Key tumbler part of the ignition? You mean the wiring part that connects to the key tumbler right?!

Yes, the switch sits behind the key tumbler.

I'm having the same problem with my G1 coupe...after driving it, sometimes there is no crank, no click, no starter, but dash lights come on. After it sits for about 30 minutes, she starts right up!?

I have gone through the ignition switch troubleshooting and all positions pass the test. So for me, I don't believe it's in the switch.

I did have loose positive battery lead but after reclamping the wires I thought I had solved problem, but today I drove it 25 miles, stopped at a shop for about 15 minutes and then went to leave....nothing....10 min later she cranked right up. I have already replaced the main relay last month. Kinda mystified right now..

Thoughts?
