Default Amp Placement

I don't know about you guys, but I love to have bass in my car. Well, this used to be my old setup for the amp:

It was nice and hidden, but I like people to see what I got. So I placed my capacitor and my new amp on the trunk lid:

I'm not done yet as you can see the rest of the wires are not hooked up. Now I know what your thinking, isn't it too heavy to keep the trunk lid open? Yes it is pretty heavy. I'm also gonna install small struts to keep the trunk open. Hopefully I'll have it done by tomorrow.

i like the idea - i like the look. i just don't like how it makes the trunk lid super heavy like that. and hopefully everything is secured well or else you might slam your trunk sometime and have an undesired outcome. good work tho its lookin nice so far

i dont like anything that can be seen when you open your trunk because im in fear of it getting stolen. everytime i open my trunk in front of my house or neighborhood i get a bad feeling because i dont want potential "thieves" to see what i got. but it takes more work to build a completely stealth system.

Lol I'm not worried at all. I got a hidden switch to activate the trunk button. Yes there is one switch in the glove box, but a lot of thieves know about that switch. So, there is another switch to activate the button and I have the keyhole disabled so know one can stick a screw driver and open the trunk from the outside. So, basically, there's no way to get in the trunk, but to find the hidden switch to get in the trunk lol.

It's not too big of a deal. I actually got the security system working by removing those wires. I think they go to the drivers door.. Not sure though. And on the auto climate, whenever you get around to it, give me a call.

Creative.
The only problem I see is the amp being upside-down. Not sure how hot you get it but most amps are designed to be mounted right-side up or vertically for proper ventilation.

yea i have to agree, even though it looks nice it may attract unwanted attention. when you add it up the damage a thief may trying to get it may end up costing more than the system itself even if they were unsucessful.
